Trio Named as Finalists for Young Sports Star Honour

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The three contenders were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The ceremony will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
