Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported debris fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
